Save Horsepower is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Greenfield, New York. We advocate for equine welfare and provide a permanent, loving retirement home for horses and animals in need.
Today, our sanctuary is home to 3 rescued horses and 4 rescued dogs — each one given the safety, care, and dignity they deserve for the rest of their lives.

Every Dollar Goes Directly to the Animals
Save Horsepower is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We have no paid staff and no administrative overhead taken from donations.
100% of every donation goes directly toward the feeding, veterinary care, and daily needs of our rescued horses and dogs. Nothing more, nothing less.

All donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
Veterans & Active Military
Equine-assisted activities have been shown to reduce symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, and depression in veterans. The non-judgmental presence of horses creates a unique space for healing that traditional therapy often cannot replicate. We welcome veterans and active service members at no cost.
People with Special Needs
Interaction with horses and animals can improve motor skills, communication, emotional regulation, and social confidence in individuals with autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other developmental differences. Our animals are calm, patient, and deeply attuned to the people they meet.
Mental Health & Emotional Wellness
Whether you are navigating grief, trauma, anxiety, or simply the weight of daily life, time with our animals offers something rare — presence, calm, and connection without expectation. Many visitors describe their first visit as the most peaceful hour they have had in years.
